the people that get you

"We shouldn't do vaccines at all." - It's a simple phrase, but it can mean so much. It could be a polarizing topic that brings arguments, it could be an opinion that sparks discussion, or it could even be a joke.

All of these options are valid (some perhaps less so than others, but it doesn't matter). It really depends on the context and the person who is saying them.

I agree, it's confusing and adds an unnecessary level of complexity, but it's similar to metaphors or words with multiple meanings.

For me, it's worth the risk. It allows me to find people who understand you, share your values, and know what you mean. It's so freeing. Yes, people might misunderstand, and look at you oddly; that will be a hiccup in the conversation.

But then maybe, after some time, you can find people who get you. You can navigate difficult conversations with them, and they'll understand what you mean, no matter what words you use. They simply get you.
